Weekend Highlights

It was very difficult for me to spend last weekend indoors knowing that there was snow outside.  Elusive, elusive snow.  No "action" shots of me working in the ring but here are a few highlights of the weekend as I remember it.

We've finished working, it's early, it's sunny
and there's snow on the ground ...

I was very excited to discover that most of Friday's snow
was still there for me to enjoy on Monday.

What a weekend:  ribbons, points, rawhide and snow!

I have to admit that during my first few swims I was kinda fixated on getting to the stairs so I could hop out and stand on solid ground.  Yesterday, I found the "joy" in swimming.  After learning how to make turns, I was swimming around the perimeter of the pool all on my own!

I was awarded Best of Winners (over 4 others) by Judge Kim Leblanc at the Ontario Breeders' Association show in Markham on Saturday. That's 2 more points toward Conformation Champion!

My Valentine's prezzie (along with the pyramid of yogurt) was a good long swim.  Apparently, 1 minute of swimming is equivalent to 1 mile of running (with much less stress on the joints).  So my Tuesday swim was akin to a 15 mile run!!!

Super Bowl Weekend

Our weekend didn't have anything to do with the "Super Bowl" but it was SUPER FUN. We made the most of 2 beautiful winter days by driving out to the country where I ran around for hours, explored the frozen pond, enjoyed a few snow cones, played frisbee, ...  With the warm temps, the ground was really smooshy so I got all muddy and stinky!

I had my first indoor swim session on Friday at LuvMyK9s in Georgetown, ON.  I started out splashing up a storm then I quickly settled into a nice rhythm and even made my first ever water retrieve.
