Catch!

Taught myself how to catch mere minutes before this video! I'd been watching treats flying in my direction for ages (rewards for staying on a bed/magic carpet exercises, etc.) and just decided to reach out and see what would happen. Of course, out came the camera. Too bad there were only 6 treats in close proximity...(sigh)...we'll never know how long the streak would have lasted.

Here I am the next morning. Recording stops (battery! (sigh)) just as I'm about to catch the fifth "Charlie Bear" in-a-row.

Happy Thanksgiving to My American Family, Friends and Followers

I'm in the midst of a growth spurt.  It seems like I'm getting bigger by the hour.

I remember when I wasn't much bigger than this truck
Can't believe my entire litter used to fit in this carrier crate
You'll never be able to pull me through the park on this

Look, my collar now barely fits my wrist

If THAT's a 17lb turkey WHATEVER will I serve to my guests?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Agility Request Granted

Grandma Sylvia requested agility videos. Can't show you my A-frame antics yet (I asked and there isn't one hidden anywhere in the house) but I can show you my chute skills. I could barely contain my excitement when I saw a chute in the backyard this morning.

In spite of my proximity to the enthrallingly exciting equipment, I hold my wait (even though I am shaking with anticipation) until I hear the cue "chute."

Once again, you can't see me holding my wait with an earth-shaking sit but atleast you can see Mom's lead out.

Will place tripod in a better position next time.

Cheese

At today's agility class, I experienced the chute for the first time. After about six runs with the fabric being held up (and then let go), I ran through a few times with the fabric completely flat. FUN! FUN! FUN! And, yes, the A-Frame is still super-duper FUN!

This evening, we played "It's Yer Choice" or, should I say, "It's Yer Cheese."

Self-control don't fail me now ... it's ... dinosaur cheese!

YES, I can!

The Alien Landing

When we were 7 weeks old, something unusual landed in Grandma Sylvia's backyard. Diva and Tyro were quite alarmed by the sudden appearance of the alien. Just look at those hackles and tails!

Never fear!  The puppies are here!  We puppies raced to the rescue and took charge of the situation...

with Stella and Elsie delivering a one-two punch!

4 months later and I'm nearly as tall as the alien!

Today, just for fun, we lined up 2 aliens and I tried heeling in a figure-8 pattern for the very first time. I'd say the puppy and the aliens did their jobs well. The human, however, needs to work on posture and footwork (sounds like "Dancing with the Stars"!).

My Mama's Ears

Nature vs Nurture
Genes vs Behaviour

In humans, for example, whether or not you can curl your tongue back onto itself is determined by a particular gene(s). Gene(s) also determine whether you have ear lobes that hang loose or ones that are affixed. Well, it appears that I have inherited the "flying nun ears" gene from Miska Mom.
